It is, of course, best to chant on Tulsi beads, as touching Tulsi is more purifying and there are stronger vibes and contact with Tulsi, who is very dear to Lord Sri Krishna. For devotees living in temples, chanting on Tulsi beads should be no problem.

For devotees living outside and having jobs, it is not that easy, as they are always on the go. Most devotees find chanting in public distracting, as people tend to stare at them or find them strange.

Some devotees say that coming in contact with Tulsi is more purifying, and some say that as all devotees wear Tulsi neck beads they are always in contact with Tulsi anyway. One devotee glued a Tulsi bead on his counter presser so that he was always in contact with Tulsi while chanting.

To get maximum benefit one must try one’s best to chant on Tulsi beads
