Krsna Is Not a Fossil
By Bhaktavatsala das (NZ)
Haribol!
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
All due respects, but after reading Vipramukhya Swami's account of the Port Authority bus terminal, and the intensive security, I was sorry to note that he felt it necessary to refer to his worshipful deities as "fossils."
Especially as a religious leader and leading preacher of Krishna consciousness, it would surely have been more appropriate to refer to Them as (perhaps) "traditional religious icons," or something more accurate, appropriate, and respectful.
I wonder how Maharaja would feel if someone called him such a term... }:-o (gasp). After all, the Lord is also a person (albeit the original and Supreme), with feelings. Certainly not a "fossil." And now there is one (very busy) confused security guard who thinks Hare Krishna devotees go around carrying (of all things) fossils! Poor fellow. };-) His brief chance for enlightenment...
Anyway, all glories to Maharaja's efforts in his traveling preaching program. Gauranga!
Sincerely,
Bhaktavatsala das (NZ)
