Festival in Sri Santipur

Dear Devotees

March 26, 2002, hundreds of devotees went to Sri Santipur, where the house of Sri Advaita Acarya is, to perform one of the most sublime and devotional services to the Lord, during this day, which is two days before Gaurpurnima. Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Prabhu accepted invitations from Sri Advaita Acarya ( all of them are the Lord Himself in different aspects) to honor prasadam at his house in Santipur and many extraordinary pastimes happened there, but the most important thing for a devotee is the special blessings that Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu gave: that everyone who takes prasadam at that place and that day will get automatically Krsna Prema (Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu Ki jaya!).

The descendant # 14 of Sri Advaita Acarya (HG Prasant Goswami) few years back decided to give this service to HH Jayapataka Swami, to bring foreigners and local devotees to cook and distribute mahaprasadam to thousands of people, and this is happening every year. HH JPS organized this festival along with HH Kavicandra Swami and other senior devotees present at that time including HH Mahavishnu swami who was leading kirtan, and HH Subhag Swami who was coordinating along with others this seva of mass prasadam distribution, to collect donations and to prepare the devotees to go and work and be instruments of Lord Gaura Hari in this extraordinary event by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada who makes us conscious of Krsna and to have the opportunity to serve others.

The descendant of Sri Advaita Acarya realized that if he wants this program to be successful, it has to be done by Srila Prabhupada's movement, and it shows that Srila Prabhupada can do amazing things and only by his causeless mercy could we all go and do this seva under his inspiration.

So ISKCON devotees went to give prasadam to more than 40,000 people and have kirtan and stage programs which was all done simultaneously with the assistance of sankirtan parties and Namahatta devotees. Thousands of plates of kichree were distributed, and His Grace Prasant Goswami, the 14th descendant of Sri Advaita Acarya, offered a special lunch prasadam in the same house to the special guests present at this event. Our devotees got double mercy by cooking, distributing, and eating prasadam on this auspicious day in in a very special place in Gaura-mandal.
