Devotees
Dance at Benefit Concert From Ramabhadra dasa
Devotees of the International Society For Krishna Consciousness (Hare Krishna Movement), in New York City were invited to take part in the Annual Rainforest Foundation Benefit Concert held at New York’s Famous Carnegie Hall on April 13, 2002. The concert organizer— Trudie Styler (founder of the Rainforest Foundation and wife of the famous Rock Star Sting)— wanted to include Hare Krishna Devotees as part of a tribute to the Late George Harrison, who was also recognized as a follower of the Hare Krishna Movement. Twenty Hare Krishna Devotees from Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir (Brooklyn, NY) danced and chanted onstage during a performance of the song "My Sweet Lord," sung by legendary music stars James Taylor and Sting, also accompanied by rock legend Elton John, country music star Wynona Judd, Anoushka Shankar (daughter of Ravi Shankar), and other eminent music artists.
