Our Reputation: The Victory is Decided

On video, you can see, one of the last times Srila Prabhupada was speaking, before he left this world, he says, "Everything is going on by the will of God. This consciousness is Krsna consciousness." The Bhagavad-Gita confirms this, "Everyone follows my path in all respects."

There is the illusory energy of the Lord, known as Maha-Maya. It causes the conditioned soul to perceive the actions going on in this world to be separate from the control of God. This is not the fact. Arjuna complained to Sri Krsna, "Why should I fight? The conclusion has already been arranged. Why can I not go away and immerse myself in self-realization?"

Krsna said, "While it is true the outcome has been prearranged, My desire is to glorify you, My friend, to give you the exalted status you deserve, to show everyone how My devotee is exalted above everyone else."

This is Krsna consciousness, understanding the reality, that the victory has already been decided. The devotee understands this truth and engages in devotional service to please Krsna, not that Krsna needs the devotee to spread Krsna consciousness. That is assured. The devotee engages in service because it is the desire of God to bring pleasure and glory to the devotee, and the devotee desires to bring pleasure and glory to God.
