Following Your Instructions, Srila Gurudev

Our Most Beloved Srila Gurudev,

We are writing this letter posthumously, but I know you will hear our words. It was not so long ago when I spoke to you on the phone and you gave us such good advice. Before going to the Holy Dham of Vrindavan and Sridham Mayapur in November - December 2001, you blessed our Tirath Yatra and gave us specific instructions.

You also gave us hope during my recent illness, and with your blessings, I am better. You gave us so much good advice on so many occasions it is hard to put it all down on paper. But the most important one is your most recent promise to us that you would come and visit us and stay with us at our home.

I mention this because I took this as another of your instructions and to that measure, by November of 2001, I had the preliminary plans ready for a new first floor addition to our house in Sydney, of a large temple room with two separate but adjacent bedrooms with ensuite, one for your holiness, the other for your secretary. I had already engaged the builder and paid the deposit when we were devastated by the news on the 15th March 2002.

We were so shattered and were not sure how to go on with our lives anymore. I was no longer sure what to do with the imminent buiilding process of the temple. But then I realized, you are watching over us as I write this, and as you have done so over the past 20 years since we first met you. You were patient and merciful towards me and my wife, even though we initially turned away from you, and you continued to guide us with your love so that we may successfully engage ourselves in loving devotional service to Sri Sri Radha Gopinathji.

Therefore, we have decided to go ahead with the construction with ideas from you, your Godbrothers, and your seniormost devotees. We will complete the project and wait for you to come, as you said you would, and we will continue serving you in that mood. And we know you will come.

Please give us strength and your blessings and your mercy.
