Answer to "Unofferable
Foods"
From Benjamin
Haribol, Bhakta Doduff
I don't know much, but I think I can elaborate a little bit, so here goes:
I've never heard of carrots and cauliflower being unofferable, but I believe mushrooms are. The reason for this is that mushrooms are in the mode of ignorance because of their growing conditions. We all know the joke, "We treat our employees like prime mushrooms...." I think that explains it.
Chocolate is unofferable because of the caffeine, but there is a substitute, which is similar, but without caffeine. Unfortunately my memory is failing me at the moment, but perhaps someone else remembers the name. It is possible that the store was using candy made from this substitute.
Decaffeinated beverages isn't something I know anything about, so I'll leave for others to write about.
I hope I have been of some help.
Chant and be happy.
Your servant, Benjamin
The substitute mentioned above may be carob powder. It comes from the tree Ceratonia siliqua and has a chocolate-like taste. —Ed
