Need Info on Madhuparka

Dear Prabhus,

I am doing a history assignment on madhuparka [an ingredient used in offerings]. I have to trace the regional, social (class), and historical links, when and where it is used, what the ingredients are, where it is first mentioned in the Vedas and in collaborative texts, etc.

I understand it is used at Indian weddings and in pre- and post-natal offerings to babies, and we offer it to the Deities. If anyone has any good sources and historical information, could you please either reply to Chakra or send me an email at sucih@in.com.au or sglees10@scu.edu.au.
