Aparadha: The Mad Elephant Offense From Madhavananda Das
ISKCON Gopal Jiu Publications is pleased to announce the release of Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine issue 6: "Vaishnava Aparadha, The Mad Elephant Offense." This long-awaited issue provides an in-depth look at this serious obstacle on the devotional path through stories from the lives of Sachi-mata, Devakinandan Das, Jahnava Devi, Srila Rupa Goswami, and Krishna-priya Thakurani; special artwork; and several never-before-seen translations. As in every issue of Sri Krishna Kathamrita magazine, one will find articles by Srila Thakur Bhaktivinode, Prabhupada Srila Saraswati Thakur, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and other previous acaryas, as well as articles by Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami and other contemporary Vaishnavas. A few comments: Thank for the latest deluxe edition of Sri Krsna-Kathamrta. The cover is really a knockout! The whole theme of mad elephant offense is important, and you have treated it in an excellent way. Each and every article is important and treated with sensitivity and in an authorized way. The artwork is also lovely. All I can say is that this is one of the best magazines in ISKCON. I wish you could publish it more than twice a year. — Satsvarupa dasa Goswami Thank you so much for the Krishna Kathamrita number 6 — wonderful, the best ever. Now if only I could give up being a Vaisnava aparadhi. Keep up this guru-seva, and you will have Thakura Bhaktivinoda come down from Goloka and shake your hand saying, "Haribolo! Well done. You are now blessed with Krishna prema. — Goloka Vrindavan Das, England The new "Aparadha" issue of Krishna Kathamrta is excellent. All those valuable instructions from varied sources gathered in one place. You selected a perfect topic—Vaisnava aparadhas. I'd been wondering why I'm not making any advancement! — Jayadvaita Swami The Krishna Kathamrita issue on Vaishnava aparadha is beautiful. The choice of articles, layout, and design, paper quality, and so forth are all first class and professional. The mood and purpose of the magazine is sorely needed — pure Krishna Katha. It is refreshing and exhilarating. This fine publication should be made more easily available to devotees worldwide. It fills a great, genuine need —that of dealing with topics which affect the core, serious Vaisnava. And the topics are covered in a way full of sweetness and hope, rather than politics or envy. Every Vaisnava should have a simple way of getting Sri Krishna Kathamrita in his or her mailbox on a regular basis. — Urmila Dasi We miss His Holiness Gour Govinda Maharaja now. Such souls are rare indeed. He was a great source of strength to the movement. But although he has left, I do feel that his legacy continues. Just last week I received a copy of Sri Krsna Kathamrta. The whole issue was dedicated to the subject of Vaisnava-aparadha, "The Mad Elephant Offense," and from the quality of Krsna-katha in the magazine, the intelligence with which the articles were conceived and arranged, I felt that yes, his legacy is continuing. His disciples and friends are continuing his mission. I felt very enlivened by the purity of the katha in the magazine. I felt purified and inspired. — Giriraj Swami Available from: India: ISKCON, Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir, USA: Krishna Culture Europe: Bhaktivedanta Library Services Australia: Govindananda Das at Please Note: These groups / persons have requested to be listed as distributors for Gopal Jiu Publications.
