You dare to ask ISKCON temples to allow free flowing conversations, debate, then this should work both ways. Anudasa |
This banning and intolerance is the single most condemned behavior of the ISKCON authorities, for all other necessary reforms would have taken place if “protester” god-brothers had remained.
How can the ritviks now allow one of their own temple presidents to perpetuate the same behavior now that they have a temple in Singapore. Please, let’s stop this “Gaudiya Math” kind of infighting that is also so widely criticized. Too often, critics seem to becoming what they criticize.
These statements could have been heard from any ISKCON temple president or GBC, but this time they came from the Singapore Ritvik temple authorities:
“The temple follows ritvik philosophy strictly and if Gansham Prabhu wants to be considered loyal to the temple, then he must also be loyal to this, and not his own ideas.”
or
“We only issued him an ultimatum for his own spiritual surety and for those with whom he relates. He cannot possibly be oscillating and confusing everyone he comes across at the temple. Make up your mind and go in the direction that you wish.”
or
“Even if you don’t wish to follow the rest of the temple community, do not disturb the minds of the others who have chosen to!”
You dare to ask ISKCON temples to allow free flowing conversations, debate, then this should work both ways. If he is confusing the congregation, then preach to them and clear up their confusion, don’t ban him. It’s the same policy that GBC critics have demanded for decades. Now, Krsna has given you the power to actually honor and implement such a system.
I’m so tired of devotees being bullied and banned. I had to deal with it from ISKCON with so many devotees I loved and respected. I assumed the ritviks would be different having been at the brunt of it for so long.
Please stop this-both camps.
