Obituary: Yajnanga das, disciple of Srila Prabhupada
By Vraja Kumara (SRS)

Ohe! Vaisnava Thakura

Passed away: Yajnanga das ACBSP (Francis Jobson)

Yajnanga Prabhu joined ISKCON at Edinburgh in 1974, and later served in ISKCON UK and Kathmandu Nepal. He was initiated in November 1975 by Srila Prabhupada and his association and service was much appreciated by all his godbrothers.

Unfortunately, he left the association of devotees for 18 years, but rejoined ISKCON at Soho Street in December 1998. Daily he went out with great determination to distribute Srila Prabhupada's books. In this way he inspired other devotees and rekindled the book distribution spirit, so that the 1999 marathon was a great success. Before he left Soho Street for Nepal in December 1999, he was chanting sixty-four rounds a day and giving nice, no-nonsense classes. He was famous for retelling his humorous adventures in the material world with Krishna conscious purports.

We are very saddened by the news that he left his body in New Delhi, on July 28th 2000. We all feel sure that Krishna has protected him.

For his benefit here will be a sraddha ceremony on Thursday 16th and a special breakfast in his honour on Friday 17th August.
