Mayapur Under Water

CHAKRA (Calcutta, India) - September 29, 2000: We're now in Calcutta and have found that there is no way for us to get to Mayapur. The highway and railbeds are flooded out! We cannot even get to Krishnanagar.

Nrsimhadeva is completely submerged in Ganga water, and Radha-Madhava are in it to Their knees. The temple room is closed - one would have to dive to even get in the door of the temple room.

Panca-tattva and Chota Radha-Madhava have gone upstairs to the GBC meeting room, and Srila Prabhupada (from the temple room) has gone upstairs to his quarters in the Lotus Building. Gaura-Nitai from the Bhajan-kutir have also gone to the GBC room. Of course, Srila Prabhupada in his samadhi is well above flood level.
