“The government has asked everyone to help in feeding the soldiers, so the devotees are bringing a lot of prasadam to them every day. It is very much appreciated.”

KAVICANDRA SWAMI

Business as Usual in Israel
By Kavicandra Swami

I noticed the CHAKRA was posting news articles about the situation in Israel. I just arrived and here is some news.

I just arrived in Israel. I asked the devotees and they said the in Israel, outside of the occupied territories, it is business as usual. It was the smoothest entry I ever had at the airport. Immigration, which generally interrogates a lot people, was stamping everyone right through. The devotees here in Ariel, which is right on the edge of the Arab territories, are carrying on. Soldiers are stationed at the entries to the town. The government has asked everyone to help in feeding the soldiers, so the devotees are bringing a lot of prasadam to them every day. It is very much appreciated. The government is in slightly more turmoil than usual, but for the people it is business as usual, except the Jews don't shop in any of the Aram markets anymore, even though they are much cheaper. Probably more people will come to appreciate Krishna Consciousness since they are fed up with "I and Mine" religion. Of course at any moment something worse could happen, but that is true anywhere. Gradually we may come to understand the depth of Srila Prabhupada’s repeated statements that this Krishna Consciousness movement is the only hope for the world.

Your Servant, Kavicandra Swami
