Devotees such as Danavir Maharaja, Panca-tattva dasa and Prananatha dasa like to pontificate about Prabhupada's books and quotes against sports.

But talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words and Manjari devi dasi has a point. There are bigger concerns in ISKCON than sports. Our movement has been racked by allegations of child abuse by its own members, there are many sannyasis that have pretensions about their infallibility and assume airs of authority. Why pick on sports? For those of us that have children, sports offer a regimen of discipline and a viable alternative to substance abuse. For the mother or father that watches his/her child play soccer or cricket are parents who "know where their children are" and this is important in keeping our children out of trouble.

Sannyasis such as Danavir Maharaja, if they are truly sincere, should along with pontificating about Prabhupada; also clean up the bigger problems of ISKCON: Child abuse, fraud, sannyasis that make their ashrama a farce - these problems taint the image of ISKCON far more than sports and exercise.

Your sincere servant,
Krsna-chitra dasa
