The German Devotees Need Your Recipes!
By Madhusudani Radha Devi Dasi

Large numbers of people all over Europe are turning away from meat and embracing vegetarianism, partly due to fears related to BSE and "Foot-and-Mouth" Disease. The "Sankirtan-Allianz" in Germany wants to help them by producing a new cookbook together with the European BBT. This is going to be a practical cookbook for beginning vegetarian cooks, with simple recipes that don't necessarily have to be Indian. To make the book user friendly, the ingredients should be easily available in regular stores and supermarkets.

The book will include approximately 50 recipes, which can be prepared by a cook of average talent in about half an hour. Needless to say, they should be delicious to help our carnivorous friends make the transition to vegetarian food more easily.

If any of CHAKRA's readers want to help, the German devotees would love to receive copies of your favorite recipes. Please feel free to send 2-3 if you'd like.

Please include: - A list of ingredients and amounts - How many people your recipe feeds - Easy to understand directions

In addition, they would like to publish a short description and friendly picture of each chef, so please tell them:            - Name - Occupation - How long you've been a vegetarian - Why you're a vegetarian - A favorite quote from a famous vegetarian (if you have one)

Please send your recipes to Parivadi dasa at parivadi@pamho.net who is compiling all the information. If you prefer, you may also call him at Germany + 06782/5957

The sooner you can submit your recipes, the better. The devotees involved would like to start testing them in the next couple of weeks. They are hoping to publish the book in less than two months.

The German sankirtan team greatly appreciates any help you can give them. This is a wonderful opportunity to help many motivated people take the first step towards spiritually and materially healthier lives.
