Apology
for Article CHAKRA
(Germany) - March 23, 2001: Recently CHAKRA published an erroneous article
authored by me announcing that Hari Sauri Prabhu, in resigning as the
Minister of Jyotish, was placing Syamasundara Prabhu, a senior devotee and
astrologer, as the interim Minister until reconfirmation at next year's
Mayapur meetings. The
article should not have been written. Hari Sauri's message was meant to be
a private message addressing the members of the GBC Body, not a public
message, and therefore I violated confidence when I wrote the story. The
mistake came about when I misunderstood the receivers of the message to
include one or more public conferences on PAMHO.NET. I would never have
written the article had I realized the receivers did not include a public
conference. I
have explained this situation already to Hari Sauri Prabhu who has kindly
accepted my apology, but since my article was published publicly, both on
CHAKRA and on the GBC Discussions conference on PAMHO.NET, I have offered
to write a public apology and this explanation. I
believe it is appropriate at this point to mention that Hari Sauri's
message was a suggestion only. When he made it, he wasn't aware that
Ministers can only be appointed by vote of the GBC Body. Consequently,
Syamasundara Prabhu won't be acting as the interim minister of Jyotish.
Therefore my entire article, in addition to being an accidental breach of
confidentiality, was inaccurate. I
regret the mistake and apologize to Hari Sauri and anyone else who may
have been adversely affected by the article. © CHAKRA 24 March 2001 Go to the GBC Page |
