Cardinal Dulles Receives a Prabhupada Book
By Daruka Dasa

Dear Chakra,

This evening, March 21st,recently elevated Cardinal Avery Dulles, gave the annual McGinley Lecture at Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx, New York. The topic of his Eminence's lecture was "Religious Freedom: A Developing Doctrine."

After the lecture there was a reception and the Cardinal graciously received guests of his lecture and briefly spoke to all who approached him. Krishna allowed me to speak with Cardinal Dulles and I offered him a copy of Srila Prabhupada's book Wisdom Through Renunciation as away to promote increased unity of all religious dialogue that leads to eternal freedom. His Eminence kindly accepted Srila Prabhupada's book and asked if I had written my name in it, I promptly did so and handed His Divine Grace's book back to the Cardinal.

Hopefully Krishna will arrange continued talks with the Cardinal and the devotees of Lord Sri Krishna! Cardinal Dulles, widely considered the leading American Catholic theologian, has been the Laurence J. McGinley Professor of Religion and Society at Fordham University since 1988. He was elevated to the College of Cardinals by Pope John Paul II in a consistory at the Vatican Feb. 21, together with Cardinal Egan, Archbishop of New York, and 42 others from around the world. As Cardinals are some of the Pope's chief advisors, Cardinal Dulles receiving a copy of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami's writings, by the Supreme Mercy of Their Lordships Sri Sri Nitai-Gauranga, and His Lordship Jesus Christ, will prove to be a glorious spiritual advancement for all souls.

Humbly submitted by your fallen servant,
Daruka dasa
