New Panihata Festival in Atlanta

To all devotees and friends,

It's time for New Panihati's Annual 3-day Festival and everyone is invited to come and help us celebrate this exciting event. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our temple president, Balabhadra dasa prabhu, at (404) 377-8680 or Jaya Govardhana dasa prabhu at (678-516-7067).

Date and Times: Friday, June 1from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Schedule: Friday evening on the temple grounds our food court and other vendors will be open beginning at 5:00 p.m. On stage will be musical and dramatic performances as well as some very interesting and enlivening seminars/lectures to be offered in the temple room.

Saturday -Festival opens downtown at Woodruff Park at 11:00 a.m. Displays about changing bodies, vegetarianism and Srila Prabhupada will be set up and Ratha-yatra will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Peachtree Road (map to follow) and will end at Woodruff Park around 2:00 p.m. Dance and musical performances will be happening while a sumptuous feast is served out in the park from 2:00 -3:00 p.m.

Festival grounds will be open at the temple from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. for vending, children's activities, stage performances including a play by Bhakti Marg and a lecture by Sadaputa prabhu. Musical stage talents will include Gayatri dasa and Mangalananda dasa, Ekendra dasa and the Planet Cow orchestra, Murari band and others.

Sunday -Festival grounds will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Chipped rice feast will be served around 3:00 p.m.

Accommodations- Camping on the temple property is prohibited again this year and we really have no room in the temple for people to stay. The strain on our water supply and sewage doesn't allow us to offer these options. Thank you for understanding.

The Highland Inn is again offering us great discounts this year and -- for those who don't know -- this hotel is within walking distance of the temple. Please call the hotel directly to make your arrangements and ask for the special rate being provided for the Hare Krishna festival. Phone: (404)874-5756. These rooms fill up very fast so make your reservations early. Prices are: Single (one double bed) $54.00/night, Double (2 double beds) $80.00, Queen (1 queen size bed) $70.00 and Suite (1 King bed and a sitting area and kitchenette) $90.00. They only have 2 suites in their hotel.

From the north take I-85 South to North Druid Hills Road exit. Turn left off

the exit, go to the third light and take a right onto Briarcliff Road. Follow Briarcliff Road for approximately 5 miles and take a left onto Ponce de Leon. Temple is about a block down on the right. Temple phone number 404-378-9234 or 404-377-8680.

From the south take I-85 North to North Druid Hills Road(south). The road turns right automatically at the exit. Take a right onto Briarcliff Road.
