New Center in Vienna, Austria

CHAKRA (Germany) - July 12, 2001: Devotees from the German farm, Nrsimha Ksetra, have just acquired a new flat in nearby Vienna, Austria.

Merely a five-minute bus ride from Maria Hilfer strasse, a very busy shopping district, the location is ideal as both a headquarters for book distributors and as a place to invite guests for programs. Young neighbors and very thick walls allow for ecstatic kirtans anytime of day and the spacious temple room provides a great place to serve prasadam.

Although ISKCON has not maintained an active preaching center there for years, Vienna is an unlimited ocean for preaching opportunity. Last December during the Prabhupada book distribution marathon, Nrsimha Ksetra devotees rose to the top of the sankirtan charts by distributing over 7000 of Srila Prabhupada's books in Vienna. With over 100, 000 students and five walking zones Vienna is ideal for book distribution and attracting new devotees to Srila Prabhupada's movement.

Regarding preaching strategies, Krishna Kumara das revealed that in addition to distributing Srila Prabhupada's books on the streets of Vienna, "we'll make noise all over the city, and then we will bring the people back and dance and chant until the roof caves in. Then we will stuff everyone so full Krishna prasadam that they can't fit out the door afterwards. "

Painting and renovation of the new flat are now underway. The grand opening will take place in September, following a preaching engagement at the European Rainbow Gathering in Croatia.
