Faith in Prabhupada's Words
By
Dravinaksa Das
To support her imperfect view of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Nischala Dasi quotes Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur regarding Srila Vyasadeva's despondency with his Vedic works.
Let us take note of the specific action Srila Vyasadeva took to cure his dissatisfaction: He submissively approached his guru, the great transcendental spaceman, Srila Narada Muni, asked his advice and surrendered to his instructions. Note that he did not speculate on whether Srila Narada Muni had "an antiquated view of women." He fully accepted his spiritual master's advice, and upon following those divine instructions produced the incomparable Srimad Bhagavatam, the cream of all the Vedas.
Srila Prabhupada's achievements were no small thing. Here he gives the secret of his success: "Actually everyone knows my guru maharaja had thousands of disciples. So out of thousands of disciples practically I am little successful. That everyone knows. Why? Because I firmly believe in the words of my guru. That's all. There may be many other godbrother, maybe very learned and very advanced, whatever it may be, favored, and everyone claims that ‘I am the most favorite.’ And practical point of view... So I think sometimes that ‘Why this wonderful thing has happened to me?’ so I search out. I search out only that I cent percent believe in the words of my spiritual master - That's all, nothing else. Guru-mukha-padma-vakya, cittete koriya aikya, ara na koriho mana asa. Don't think of any nonsense. Simply execute what your guru has said. That is success."
You have to choose a guru that you can fully surrender to otherwise you will only be a disciple of your mind. You can accept and reject on the basis of your mind of on the basis of the instructions of a liberated soul like Srila Prabhupada. And if you study Srila Prabhupada's teachings very deeply you will find he hits the nail on the head every time.
Sincerely,
Dravinaksa Das
