Achintya
Mailing List - Update
By Krishna
Susarla
Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Please accept my humble obeisances.
I am writing to inform the devotees of a moderated, e-forum for Krishna-katha.
Since introducing it several months ago, the Achintya Bedha Abedha Tattva mailing list has grown to about 290 members. All postings are strictly moderated according to brahminical standards of behavior. This means that discussions take place without flaming, politics, or condescending remarks, which have historically ruined other religious Internet forums.
The Achintya Bedha Abedha list exists for several reasons: (1) to provide a medium through which Gaudiya Vaishnavas following Srila Prabhupada's parampara can share in each other's association, (2) to provide a moderated forum for discussions on pertinent matters of philosophy and/or doubts, and (3) to share in pure Krishna-katha. Controversial, philosophical discussions are welcome and even encouraged, subject to certain regulations: (1) the authority of shastra is respected at all times, (2) arguments are offered respectfully, and (3) political remarks, especially institutional politics, be avoided at all times.
Intellectual, twice-born devotees will find the Achintya list a welcome change from other forums in which their interests have historically been discouraged.
For those less interested in scholarly discussions, the Achintya list also welcomes more basic questions and answers pertaining to Krishna-conscious philosophy and practice, as well as personal stories relating to devotional experiences. This includes such things as recollections of Srila Prabhupada's association and pilgrimage to holy places. There are daily postings from Bhagavad-gita As It Is on the list. Other features include file downloads, a Gaudiya Vaishnava verse list, a Vedic book database, Vaishnava calendar with automatic reminders for Ekadasi, and online chatting.
The list is especially meant for Gaudiya Vaishnavas following Srila Prabhupada, but this is not an absolute requirement. Other Gaudiya Vaishnavas, Vaishnavas from other sampradayas, Hindus, and even non-Hindus interested in Vedic spirituality are welcome to join the list.
The list web page is located at www.achintya.org . To subscribe, simply visit the web page and click the appropriate link, or send a blank message to achintya-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
Thank you. Hare Krishna!
your servant,
Krishna Susarla
