Correction from Ground Zero

To Whom it may concern,

My name is Michael Maloney. I work for the Fire Department in New York City. Whether it was a fortunate, or unfortunate circumstance, I was not in New York City when the attack occurred. This is not an attempt at being humble. I was not at the event until Thursday.

I feel bad enough as it is that I was not on the scene to help my friends and family, but I had a devotee come up to me today, downtown Manhattan, and was about to congratulate me for such heroism, until I told him I was not in town that day. This reminder is a more constant torture than anything else I have had to endure.
