The Soul
By Ayu Dwi

Where am I? Here in the foreign land, so far away from the original home. Like a fish out of water, never feel happy but never know why? Floating in this material world, millenniums after millennium forget about going back home. Like a straw floating in the ocean, not knowing where to go, looking everywhere and hoping for the helping hand.

There is a shadow in the distance, who is it? Wearing saffron and a sign in the forehead, utter the beautiful sound that ever heard. "Hare Krishna" — the transcendental sound. It is so strange and yet so familiar. Not knowing that already face to face with The Absolute Truth, the soul keeps staring, trying to comprehend — The Divine sound penetrates deep into the heart.

The sound, like a thunderbolt, wakes up the soul from a very long sleep. Feel so weak, the soul realizes — this is The Sound that will change his consciousness forever. Falling on his knees and weeping like a child, the soul trying to utter the Divine Sound — The Sound that comes from a faraway land, a land where his Creator resides. With folded hand, the soul bowed his head; give his obeisance’s to Your representative — trying to reach his lotus feet. Standing on his feet and clench his fists, the soul makes a pledge — to retrace his path and going back home, Back To Godhead.

With the Holy Name on his lips, the soul watering the seed and puts it in the garden of his heart. The soul needs the company of a pure devotee to help him protect the seed from the hand of Mother Maya. With his small step, the soul starts his journey, aware that in every corner Mother Maya is ready to snatch him back to the dark of Her cave.

With full faith in the Holy Name, the soul keeps walking and glorify the real name of his Creator — Krishna. Krishna. Krishna. How merciful You are to this fallen soul, send Your representative to remind him from his duty to eternally serve You. Oh Krishna — what else that this fallen soul can ask other than Your blessing, to be always in the company of Your devotee.

Here I am, standing in the dawn of my spiritual path. The morning dew is fallen on my head. The wind blows and the bird sings with a new song. Everything looks so different. Looking up to the endless sky, knowing that You are boundless. I close my eyes and renew my faith in You. To fool I am, did not recognize You, my beloved friend. And now, with Your Holy Name on my lips, let me glorify You Always.
