Tribhuvanatha Prabhu Ki Jaya!
by Bhakta Jurjen (Yadasampati das)

In the spring of 1999, when i spent some time in the Bhaktivedanta Manor and Birmingham temple, i had some very nice association with H.G. Tribhuvanatha Prabhu. Most of all i was astonished by his enormous enthusiasm and energy. At the same time he was a very gentle and humble person.

In Birmingham he had organized two great festivals, like he had done for so many years in so many places, with a huge slide-projector screen, fantastic kirtans, a lecture, prasadam, a bazaar and at the end "on stage" the guru puja song for Srila Prabhupada. When one of the festivals had finished and we had packed all our things to go back to the temple, it was already 00:30 in the night. I would drive back to the Manor with Tribhuvanatha prabhu the next day.

As we were heading homeward he suddenly changed his mind and decided to drive back all the way that very night! He didn’t want to waste any time. And i had to come with him because i had no alternative (he was driving the only car going back, and all my things were in the Manor). Looking back on it that was one of the most special nights of my life. We talked about a lot of things, among which my unsteady spiritual life. He told me about his own spiritual development and the problems he had encountered on his way, making me confident that, if we are really sincere, those problems will all be conquered.

I think all together the drive took about 5 or 6 hours. Tribhuvanatha Prabhu only stopped for about 45 minutes to take a little nap. When we arrived at the Manor he proceeded right away to the temple room to join the morning program. I am sorry to tell you that i am not such a hero. I didn't have any sleep yet and jumped into my bed right away.

Tribhuvannatha prabhu was, is, and will always be a very special person to me. I was so saddened to hear about his disease and that we would probably have to miss him soon. On the other hand I am confident that the Visnudutas have brought him back to the spiritual world now.

All glories to Tribhuvanatha Prabhu! Hare Krsna.
