Dasi Needs Help

Dear Prabhus and Maharajas,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I am writing regarding my godsister Maithily dasi. She joined ISKCON in the early 70s and has served Srila Prabhupada in the UK, France, India, and many places. She did very wonderful service in Bombay in the early years when we were so poverty stricken and India was a tough place to live.
I personally know her as a great Vaisnavi, surely on her way Back to Godhead at the end of this life, by Srila Prabhupada’s mercy. His Divine Grace also knew her personally and appreciated her service.
Now, like a number of Baby Boomers, she is feeling the affects of the "Silent Killer" Hepatitis C virus which she has had in her blood for over 30 years.
Maithily never married and as such is not properly protected. She cannot easily live in an ashram with her condition, and also she is so senior to any ladies living in our small bhaktin ashramas.
She has been struggling for a number of years to be financially independent. She has a T-shirt business, which she works hard at, and in these times of difficulty she is in a little difficulty. She has a potential order but doesn’t have the finances to fulfil the order. A successful conclusion of the deal would give her a good boost. She needs someone to lend her the capital, which she is willing to repay in six months or before with interest.
Were talking about $2000-$3000. She has no collateral as such, but perhaps something could be worked out with the goods for sale.
Actually I am more disturbed by her physical condition. She shouldn’t have to work in this way with so much stress and strain. It is very bad for her liver. I know well from her recent tests that she could progress towards end stage liver disease and/or cancer if someone doesn’t help her NOW.
I am a sannyasi and I am struggling with my own liver problems. I cannot get directly involved at this stage. Of course I will do anything if no one else will do something. Her email is maiteefine@hotmail.com and her cell phone is 858-883-4949.
Gentlemen, we have to take care of our women, especially ladies who have served so faithfully in the past. She may not be active in DS just now but she has sacrificed much and is very much a Prabhupada Woman.
