Sriman George Harrison Passes On

Former Beatle guitarist George Harrison has died in Los Angeles at age 58, after an arduous battle with cancer. Sriman George Harrison will be fondly remembered by the Hare Krsna movement for his selfless devotion to Srila Prabhupada's cause during the establishment of his mission here in the United Kingdom. It was alone due to George that ISKCON secured Bhaktivedanta Manor, now one of the leading ISKCON centres around the world. George will also be sadly missed in the music world. His guitar work helped shape the group's influential sound, with writing credits including "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun." Former Beatle Paul McCartney said he was "devastated and very, very sad."
