A letter from Abhay Dasa
Dear Chakra,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I had been meaning to write and express my gratitude to you for taking the trouble to keep
us all connected to the heart of things. Here I am in San Jose, and I'm seeing pictures of
the GBC meetings, taking darshan of Radha Madhava, and getting synopses of morning class!
But what prompted me to write was reading Puru Prabhu's comment regarding CHAKRA being
ISKCON's "Pravda" (Russian for "truth", the name of the former Soviet
communist government's propaganda newspaper). It's beyond me. If the issue is the GBC's
openness, then its cooperation with CHAKRA is a milestone marking light years of progress.
Just take a little click on "GBC Appraisals" and you can access sensitive
information regarding weaknesses of some of our most senior leaders. Did CHAKRA suppress
Puru Prabhu's strong worded criticism? No. That's precisely where I found it.
We must congratulate the entire GBC body for their willingness to be so straightforward
and humble. We will be guilty of grievous hypocrisy not to acknowledge this tremendous
step in the right direction
Let's please, for once, give credit where credit is due.
Years ago Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu wrote a series of articles in BTG ("Dharma
Chakra") about an astrologer's predictions and the installation of the first
Sudarshan Chakra above Sri Sri Radha Madhava. The installation of this Chakra seemed to
herald a new auspicious time for ISKCON. I believe the appearance of the CHAKRA Website is
equally auspicious for our movement and should be acknowledged as such.
Once again, thank you and all glories to the staff at CHAKRA,
Your servant,
Abhay das |
