We here at Chakra are committed to telling you the whole truth. We don't hide anything, although we have our own perspective, which is independent and not dictated to us by the GBC. At CHAKRA, although we are friends with the GBC, we only present our own views. We speak of our own free will.

Defending the
Exposed GHQ is Futile
from Srila dasa

Sriman Guru-Krsna Prabhu has bravely attempted respond to and rebut the numerous accusations that implicate him — along with all the other members of the now nefarious GHQ — in misogyny. We might note, however, that not once has Guru-Krsna distanced himself from the bigoted statements that document their (GHQ) collective foolishness.

Guru-Krsna's conspicuous silence must mean a fundamental agreement with the basic intent of those heinous letters, which are now a matter of public record. We don't have to speculate about the allegations: there is a clear and present danger expressed therein. The nonsense is self-evident and not worth repeating.

It is also to be noted that the North American GBC and the GBC Executive Committee have both joined to voice their strong disapproval of the tenor of the above-mentioned GHQ. While Guru-Krsna has laudably tried to defend his conscience and the conference in spite of such odds, in the face of this overwhelming public and ecclesiatical backlash, I would respectfully suggest a polemic approach will prove futile. The best way Guru-Krsna can preserve whatever dignity he has left is to humbly bow out of any further debate and adopt a more open mood of exchange by simply trying to understand other people's views. Then, of course, he can always "agree to disagree," but not before he has maturely considered other perspectives on the issues.

Challenged as he is with such overwhelming reproof, Guru-Krsna's rhetorical strategy will serve no fruitful purpose but only indict him all the more. Guru-Krsna can display the nobleness of character he presumes to have by genuinely inquiring and trying to understand the nature of his (as well as his colleagues in GHQ) misconceptions.

I therefore urge Guru-Krsna Prabhu — and all his cohorts — to give up their legalistic course of argumentation that is based on self-righteousness and condescending attitudes towards women and genuinely try to surrender unto qualified Vaisnavas and accept correction where it is appropriate.

Hearing, not arguing, promotes understanding. If Guru-Krsna Prabhu finds any hesitation in disavowing the exposed statements of the GHQ, then I respectfully submit that his understanding sorely needs to be revised and expanded — at least if he wants to call himself a servant of the Vaisnavas, as I think he does.

"Hearing is the basic principle for understanding." (Srila Prabhupada)

Perhaps the collective will of the Vaisnavas is trying to tell you something?
