My writings are a call to arms for people to stand and take action towards what is so needed: reviving the essence of Prabhupada's philosophy— Harer Nama Sankirtana!
Of course we all have our differences, and will continually beg to differ with others, but to try to go beyond that is, of course, difficult, but all the same, necessary, if we are attempting to fulfill our ultimate goal of going back home.
To put blame on (the) ISKCON, a non-living entity, made up of all different types of people, is not the proper course of action. Instead of taking action and responsibility toward these ignorant behaviors and mentalities that certain people have, we bail out, scapegoat, and throw our hands up and what not.
Of course, this is understandable to a certain degree, and by certain persons, but this should be the minority response, not the majority. It is sad to know that so many people did this, especially after Prabhupada left the planet. That these ignorant rascals, that caused so much suffering, who are in the minority, got a strangle-hold on the majority of people in the movement, is what is so disheartening!
It amazes, and pleases me to no end that gurukulis like Ananta Vrndavan das, Deva Deva das, Raghunatha das, and others, who were subjected to the harshest, and severest cruelty of all those mistreated at the hands of these minorities I speak of, are still practicing Krsna Consciousness! That they still associate, and persevere is mind-boggling, and very commendable! In comparison to other religions where fanatic abuse occurs, the victims run as far as they possibly can from any association, and behave in the exact opposite ways of what they were taught. To this I offer my most humble obesencies to all of you! Your perseverance and determination is proof of Krsna's bounty and love!
Of course there are problems within (the) ISKCON, probably more severe than other societies. Stemming from the fact that there are high standards that people are attempting to live up to in a period of time where that in itself is difficult to accomplish. As we have seen, this leads to unnecessary, and cruel, judgement and behavior towards others. It also leads to hypocrisy, and self-righteousness, which is arrogant, and pathetic. But keep in mind that this behavior is coming from those who attempt to understand the philosophy, but can't, for whatever their reasons.
The people in positions of power are merely there for the purpose of functionality, though some of them believe and behave otherwise. The corrupted persons don't hold any power over our spiritual lives, and can never hold any power over our relationship with our Lord, unless we give it to them.
Unfortunately, when we feel powerless against corruption we regretfully do things such as scapegoat, back down, throw our hands up, etc. This is why I reminded one and all of Prabhupadas simple method. If we all were to take Lord Chaitanya's essence to heart, and keep that the focus and purpose of the movement, then we will be fulfilling all that was really asked of us: Bolo Hari. Herein lies the true power and glory of (the) ISKCON. To not enforce standards on others is so crucial, because that is where the problems begin to occur, and where so much pain is created!
To finish, I will say that your association, all of you who have Krsna as the ultimate goal for one and all— you are the true examples, and real leaders, of what is necessary and recommended for this age of Kali. It is to you I will continue to look to for association, guidance, example, and faith. Please accept my deepest respect and gratitude as a token of friendship and love, and for this I could never be happier or more grateful.
