Padayatra Returns to Jhansi

On September 20, Srila Prabhupada's Sankirtan Padayatra on their way to Dwarka to complete four times around India arrived again in Jhansi. They were greeted by many of the leading citizens of the city....

The people of Jhansi have become very proud of Srila Prabhupada, who made Jhansi famous all over the world. Although previously, the many young people who flocked to Srila Prabhupada in the 50's did not have the influence to help Srila Prabhupada keep his League of Devotees in the Radha Memorial, now the leading citizens have promised land and assistance in opening a center in Jhansi.

Detroit's 25th Anniversary

The grand opening of The Glory of India Experience museum in New Delhi happened this morning on the 2nd of October at 11.30AM and proved to be a great success.

The Ambassador of Russia, Mr. Alexander Kanakin, visited the opening and also gave a very favorable speech in the auditorium praising ISKCON's activities, among which is also opening of the museum in New Delhi. After he was given a museum tour together with other VIPs, he expressed his appreciation for the exhibits and also told the cultural director of the Russian Embassy in New Delhi that all children attending the Russian school at the Embassy should come and visit the museum.

There was a quote written on the wall from the Hari bhakti vilas "Anyone who enters this place during the month of Karttika achieves the supreme destination." Everyone shouted Haribol, Jaya! Particularly moved by the various reports given on CHAKRA by Bhima, Basu Gosh, and Mukunda Madhava Prabhus, I contacted Jaya Govinda, our previous temple president but current temple authority, about what I thought would be a way to gather some funds to help the situation there. To my surprise, as I was mentioning various local individuals who had immediately pledged at my place of business upon hearing these reports, various hands started to raise from the audience, pledging 10, 50, 100, 200 dollars. During all my years of working with the devotees, I have analyzed some points, which I feel are the causes of problems that devotees face while they are in Vrindavana, especially during festivals. I would like to share these points with all of you who are coming to Vrindavana festival.

Stomach disorders like diarrhea and dysentery, stomachache, and vomiting are some the most common problems. The most common reason for getting sick in Vrindavan is the water, which is heavy and is difficult to digest. Although many devotees use the bottled water, the water used for cooking or making lemonade, lassi etc. is the regular water.

Another important factor is the changeable weather during the Gaura Purnima festival. It is generally the spring season and the climate starts getting warmer, but it is still cool in the evening, late night, and early morning (mangala arti time). The climate seems quite pleasant, but if proper care is not taken, devotees can catch cold, cough, and flu very easily.
