The country is suffering from extreme financial duress. The community of devotees are struggling to keep their small preaching effort alive. I want to thank whoever has put my request for memories about Hladini Mataji on your web site. However, I used an expression that is not really befitting to the situation, and I beg you to change that if possible. Instead of saying she was executed in Liberia it would be better to say she was murdered, as one devotee pointed out that to "execute" means to put to death especially by carrying out a lawful sentence. And that, of course, doesn't hold true for this great saint who was shot by a rebel leader.

I am 51 years of age. I met His Divine Grace on March 21, 22, and 23, 1973, in Hyderabad, India, when Tamal Krsna Maharaj was in charge of the temple. Because of various family reasons, I could not join.

Right now I am serving in the temple as a housekeeping contractor in Bangalore. I have a manpower staff of nearly 150, working and taking care of the cleaning of the temple and other deparments. My children are studying.

As there is problem of this ritvik etc, I am prepared to work in any temple doing service for books, selling, enrolling members, etc, taking care of guest houses if any in the temples, all free. I do not want any payment but a place to stay and render service.

Our Traveling Experience 
in Dwaraka Dham

We recently visited Dwaraka Dhama for the first time. This is why we have decided to share with all of you our first impressions of Dwaraka Dham. Indeed, Dwaraka is the dham where, as we all know, Lord Krishna resided for over 100 years, but what many of us don't know is that ISKCON has a small guest house there with 20 beautiful rooms (see more photos on http://photos.yahoo.com/murli038). 

There are Sri Sri Rukmini-Dwarakadhish Deities (photo) and very enthusiastic devotees who under the care and constant supervision of the founder of the Dwaraka project, HH Maha Vishnu Goswami (photo), are progressing nicely, with the construction of a nice ISKCON temple for the pleasure of Sri Sri Rukimi Devi Dwarakadhish. The special feature of this temple is that it is made entirely of stone— the first of its kind in the history of ISKCON. The construction has come up to the first floor (photo), and we hope that by the year 2003-2004 it will be finished. As we spoke with HH Maha Vishnu Goswami, he enthusiastically explained to us the importance of this pioneer ISKCON project for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada.

E-mail, e-commerce— and now the congregation youths of Toronto temple have started E-Bhaktivrksa, an electonic version of the Bhaktivrksa program. The Bhaktivrksa program is run by Harimadhav and mother Bindumalini in Toronto to help the temple to multiply the congregation and make devotees. The youth groups liked the concept, and some among them started something like a conference (like that on COM/PAMHO) under the guidance of several devotees like Bhakta Sanjeev, Bh.Manohar, Bhaktin Rina, and Bhakta Siva.

My wife and I visited Jagannatha Puri in early January and would like to inform the devotees of a nice guesthouse situated near the beach and close to the Birla guesthouse. It is called the Shanti guesthouse and the rooms were clean, moderately priced, and quiet. It was in stark contrast to the hotel where we first stayed, which was noisy and full of parties and the drinking of alcohol.
