Dear devotees,

Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I am glad to inform you that by the grace of Lord Krishna, now we have started Western Union (WU) money transfer service from Sridham Mayapur itself. Now you can pick up your Western Union money transfer from our ISKCON Mayapur office, Mayapur Travel Seva. This service is offered absolutely free.

Snan Yatra in Mayapur
By Tusti Mohan Krsna dasa

Dear Devotees,

Dandavat Pranam.

We would like to share few pictures of the transcendental celebration of Jagannath Snan Yatra in Mayapur. Lord Jagannath, Sri Baladeva, and Srimati Subhadra take snan (bath) in public so all the devotees can have the opportunity to do seva to the Lord once in a year.

The Deities in the Holy Dham are more than 500 years old, from the time of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu, and are considered some of the most active Deities of Lord Jagannath, Sri Baladeva, and Srimati Subhadra in the world. Devotees went from Sri Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir to the main temple of Lord Jagannath to perform this great service during this season before the celebration of Rathayatra.

Candan Yatra in Mayapur

From Tusti Mohan Krsna das

Dear Devotees:

One of the most famous and important festivals that we have in Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir in Sri Mayapur Dham is The Candan Yatra. During this time, devotees can see the Supreme Lord Madhava covered completely by candan [sandalwood] in different colors every day, and after one week we see His forehead as well as Srimati Radhika and the Asta Sakhis covered with Candan during this month.

Narasimha Caturdasi in Mayapur
From Tusti Mohan Krsna das

Dear Devotees,

Today was a very auspicious day, the appearance day of Sri Narasimhadev. In Mayapur there were many programs on this occasion. Morning, there was Srimad Bhagavatam class given by H.H. Jayapataka Swami Maharaja and H.H.Subhog Swami Maharaja in Bengali. In English the Bhagavatam class was given by H.H. Bhakti Vidya Purna Maharaja and H.H. Jayapataka Swami Maharaja. The Bhagavatam classes were on the topic of the appearance of Sri Narasimhadev. The devotees were requested to follow no-grain prasadam because Mayapur has installed deities of Sri Narasimhadev.

This was also a very special occasion since this year the desire to offer a 108-Shalagramshila Garland (in silver) by HH Jayapataka Swami was finally fulfilled, thanks to a couple of devotees (Lila Madhava & Sarvasakti ) who brought the Shalagrams from the Himalayas, and this morning, this was the main celebration.

Biggest Flood in 22 Years Receding But Suffering Not Over
By Vipramukhya Swami

CHAKRA (Bhaktivedanta Manor, U.K.) - October 7, 2000: The biggest flood in West Bengal in 22 years is receding, but the damage and suffering is far from over. Flood waters reached the chest of the Sri-Sri Radha-Madhava deities on ISKCON property. The top of the massive doors into the temple room were under water. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes and livestock. Many people drowned.

Two motorboats carrying rice for flood victims collided and capsized, sending 87 quintals of rice to the bottom. The accident took place at the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Jalangi rivers at Nabadwip. The rice had been sent from district headquarters in Krishnagar for flood victims in Swarup Ganj. The head-on collision took place at night.

Eye Witness Account of Flood
By Lalita devi dasi

Maybe you have heard that we are going through the biggest flood in the history of Mayapura. There is incredible damage and great losses everywhere in Mayapura. The local people are starving and living in trees and on banana rafts. Even in my building, which is so high off the ground, the water was 3 feet inside the bottom flats. You would have had water up to your ceiling if you had stayed where you were.
