CHAKRA (Bhaktivedanta Manor, UK) - May 19, 1999: An article on Chakra has helped raise $7,500 for the Vrindavan Gurukula, according to Braja Bihari dasa.
When Chakra editor Madhusudani Radha dasi informed Braja Bihari that the Vrindavan Gurukula article had been published, he replied: "Not only am I aware that the Vrindavan Gurukula article made it on to Chakra, but listen to this......!!!!!.....
"A few days after your article was posted I got an e-mail from a devotee who asked to remain Anonymous. He asked me how much it would cost to paint the gurukula since it sounded from Madhusudani's article that that was a great need. I told him that re-plastering, minor repairs and fresh paint for the inside of the building and the roadside exterior would cost $7,500. He wrote back asking, ‘Where do I send the money.’ He gave $7,500 and the money has already been transferred to India and the work has started and will be done before the school year begins in July!
